When should my student stay home from school?

​Students should not attend school under the following circumstances:

  • 24 hours after a fever greater than 100.0 without the use of  fever reducing medications
  • 24 hours after starting antibiotics for communicable infections such as Strep Throat or bacterial conjunctivitis  (Pink Eye).  
  • Influenza like illness (fever over 100.00, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue)
  • Generally not well enough to participate in the daily school routine

If your student is not well enough to attend school, we request you contact your school's attendance office to report that they will not be in attendance that day. You may be asked brief questions about the student illness.  Students unable to attend for more than 3 days in a row will be required to present a physicians' note to excuse the absences.

If your student has an injury which limits participation in normally scheduled activities at school (such as Physical Education) a physician's note is required  delineating the activity level.
